Fall in love with four hot trends coming to Becker Shoes
As much as we don’t want to admit it, fall is fast approaching.
Pumpkin spiced lattes, the leaves changing colours and fall fashions are already creeping into stores. We’re sorry to ruin your current finally-summer-is-here vibes.
So with back-to-school promotions, Halloween costume-planning and the smell of pumpkin in the air, we thought we’d give you a little heads up on what to expect for footwear in fall 2017.

ws that whatever comes off the fashion runways, will eventually inspire ready-to-wear lines of clothing, footwear and accessories. So with that in mind, we’re highlighting four of the hottest footwear trends from the runways, and giving you a sneak peek of what you’ll see in our stores come the Fall.

First up, we have slouchy boots. Boots in general, be it ankle or over-the-knee, fashion boots aren’t going anywhere and the selection will be great this upcoming season.
For those looking for a pair now, we still have a number available, but for those who enjoy being on top of the seasonal trends, slouchy boots are the new boots.
Designer Michael Kors featured a dark grey boot with a pyramid heel that showed off the slouchy look really well, but while we love the look, it’s not necessarily in everyone’s budget or style. An affordable alternative would be the ever-popular Rieker 74798 slouchy ankle boot. This boot was very popular last year and this year it is available in blue, tan and black. Pair this slouchy ankle boot with skinny jeans, leggings or tights and a skirt for a great seasonal look that is perfect for fall. We love this boot when worn with a pair of jeans, long sleeve shirt and wrap shawl for that perfect weekend look.
The Coach Design House featured an intensely furry slip on sandal and we found the perfect ready-to-wear version from Birkenstock. We feel the Birkenstock version is a bit more wearable for every-day use. This iconic Arizona style from Birkenstock features a soft shearling interior that makes this model the perfect slipper or fall sandal – the choice is yours.
Next up is the loafer that made viewers raise their eyebrows. Gabriela Hearst took the traditional loafer and raised it (literally) with a thick wedge platform. We love the teal colour, however, we can’t see many women going from the office to the parent-teacher conference wearing these.

ny-loafer-inspired silhouette and the rich burgundy colour.
This Earthies loafer would do well with jeans, leggings and a long sweater or dress pants, actually your options are pretty much endless with this funky little slip on.
Men, we did not forget you! Alexander Wang is known for his offbeat style and he did not disappoint this season. Space age and combat boots are high on the trend radar this season and put them together and – it’s outta this world! Clever huh?
ECCO stepped up their shoe game this fall, with the Soft 3 for men. This ankle-grazing sneaker/shoe hybrid brings that urban and military l
ook together for a great work-to-weekend look. If you’re feeling young and urban, wear these with dark denim and a basketball jersey or with skinny jeans and your favourite motorcycle jacket.
As this summer unfolds and approaches the end of the season, it’s never too early to start thinking about what you’ll be wearing in the fall. We hope this trend alert will help you get your footwear fashion must-haves in place for a new season of stylish shoes!
